Jane has thirty-five years of experience in Social Work and Psychology, having trained at the University of Bath for four years and later at the University of Central Lancashire for two years. Although she recently retired from those disciplines, she uses the knowledge and skills gained from them in her current role as a Yoga Therapist, having graduated from a further three years of study at The Minded Institute in London.
While all yoga is beneficial for physical and mental health, Yoga Therapy uses specific yoga tools to target individual needs. It considers every aspect of a person's life in order to help them achieve optimum health, promoting self-care and empowerment. Jane is a Minded Yoga Therapist who combines Yoga, Buddhism, Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness with specific evidence-based practices rooted in science, anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience.
Jane is a calm, compassionate person who works hard to hold a safe therapeutic space for her clients. Yoga Therapy sessions are one-to-one and tailored to the specific body, condition, and life of the person in the room. The first consultation is a free twenty-minute session, and Jane holds her yoga sessions on Monday mornings.
Long-term clients describe her as invaluable, particularly through difficult diagnoses and periods of change. Her calm serenity is deeply empowering. Jane's work has helped people breathe better, relax the body, hold posture without strain, and settle the mind. The changes she enables tend to run further than a single session and into real, sustained differences in the way life is lived.
