Arriving at Well Bath

A short arrival guide for people coming in for the first time. Read it in a minute, arrive already knowing what happens.

  1. Where we are

Well Bath, Woolley Lane, Charlcombe, Bath, BA1 8BA. Ten minutes from central Bath by car. The postcode drops you at the top of Woolley Lane; follow it down and you will see the sign on your right.

  2. Parking

Follow the lane round to the back and park there. Free. From the back, a side passage runs along the building and brings you round to the front door.

  3. When to arrive

Ten to fifteen minutes before your class or session starts. That gives you time to settle in the foyer, use the toilet, and be in the room without rushing. There is room to arrive slowly.

  4. The foyer, and the tea

You will come in through the front door into the foyer. There is a Welsh dresser with herbal teas and water — help yourself. Take a seat on the bench, kick your shoes off, and land. Someone will say hello.

  5. What to wear

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Layers if it is a colder day; the studio warms up as the practice moves. Bare feet for yoga. If you are here for a treatment, wear something you can get in and out of easily.

  6. What to bring

Nothing you need to bring. Mats, blocks, bolsters, and blankets are all here. A water bottle if you would like it. Something warm for savasana at the end of a class.

  7. Who will meet you

Your teacher or practitioner will be in the studio or the treatment room. If it is your first class, mention it to them; they will make sure you are settled and know where to go for anything you need.

  8. What happens in the class or session

Every class starts with a moment of settling. Every treatment starts with a short conversation. You are never surprised or rushed into something. If anything is not right, say so — this is a place where saying so is welcome.

  9. If you need to cancel

Twenty-four hours' notice for a class or a treatment lets someone else have the space and keeps your class pass or gift card intact. Later than that and it counts as a used session. Call or email if life gets in the way.

  10. If you have any questions before you come in

The lightest way to sort something out is a call or an email. Numbers and address at the bottom of every page here. Joe will pick up or return your call the same day.

Booking for someone else?

If you are arranging a session for a partner, parent, client, or someone in your care, the interactive triage on our first-time page has a route that speaks about them rather than about you. It takes two minutes and suggests a small first door in.

Book directly from the schedule if you already know what you are looking for, or take the two-minute triage if you would like a small guided recommendation. Either is fine.
