Finding Well Bath
How to find us
We sit in the Charlcombe valley, ten minutes from central Bath. Close enough for a lunchtime treatment. Far enough that the loudest sound outside is usually birdsong.
The directions below are the routes we recommend to first-time visitors. They keep you on named roads until the last turn, which is steadier than most sat nav choices, especially in winter when the country lanes can be icy.
The address
Well Bath, Woolley Lane, Charlcombe, Bath BA1 8BA
Parking is round the back of the building. Free, and yours for the duration of your visit. Arrive around ten minutes before your session and you will have time to settle.
Postcode
BA1 8BA
The postcode gets you within roughly a hundred metres. Follow the What3Words for the front door.
What3Words
///tops.outer.fame
Drops you at the entrance. Handy if your sat nav wants to leave you on the wrong side of the valley.
Parking
Free, round the back
Follow the drive round to the rear of the building. Coach parking on request.

The last turn on film
For anyone happier following a video, this shows the approach up Charlcombe Lane and onto Woolley Lane. Useful the first time. After that the route lodges itself in muscle memory.

On foot
Walking up from Larkhall
A number of our regulars walk to Well Bath from Larkhall. The route runs up St Stephen's Road, along Charlcombe Lane, and onto Woolley Lane. Around fifteen minutes from Larkhall square, at a considered pace. Twenty of those minutes are uphill, so leave a little more time than the map suggests.
The last stretch is genuinely lovely — hedgerow, birdsong, the occasional buzzard overhead. A softer arrival than a car park.
Good to know
A few practical notes
Sat nav caution
Sat navs sometimes route via narrow country lanes that get tricky in winter. The written directions above take a steadier route on named roads until the last turn.
Winter driving
Country lanes around Charlcombe hold ice longer than the main roads. Please check local conditions before setting off in cold weather, and give yourself an extra ten minutes.
Bristol arrivals
The A4 can be busy at peak hours. During the morning and evening rush the train to Bath Spa is often the quicker option, then a short taxi or the Service 2 bus from there.
Arriving in good time
The foyer opens ten minutes before every session. Herbal teas and filtered water are on the Welsh dresser. Please leave shoes on the rack and settle into the room quietly.
When you arrive
The welcome
Park round the back of the building and take the side passage on the left. It brings you round to the front entrance. There is no receptionist. The space welcomes you directly. Make yourself at home and let the room hold you.
The Welsh dresser in the middle of the foyer holds mugs, glasses, teas and a jug of water. Help yourself. If the kettle needs filling, the kitchen is just off the foyer behind the green door. Pour yourself a tea, take a quiet seat, and let yourself land.
Shoes come off in the foyer and rest on the rack. When your session is ready to begin, slip quietly into the studio and settle where you would like.
Hiring the space
