The room lies down and the bowls hold it
Kate holds the monthly Crystal Bowl Sound Baths at Well Bath. The room lies down, the lights come low, and Kate plays a set of tuned crystal singing bowls for the length of the session. The sound does the work.
Sound baths work differently from talking, from movement, from breath. The bowls settle the nervous system through frequency alone, and often reach places that other practices have not. Some people fall asleep in them. Some cry quietly. Some describe seeing landscapes or memories. Some notice nothing during the session and feel the difference the next day. There is no wrong response.
Kate also teaches Vinyasa Yoga on the studio side. Her class is the more energetic end of the yoga schedule at Well Bath, flowing and breath-led, and a good pairing with the softer sound bath work if you want to feel her work in two registers.
What people often say afterwards is that they could feel a specific bowl reach a specific place in the body. Kate plays with a light, attentive touch; there is no showmanship and no drama. The room does the work.
