Dan Cossins White

Personal Training · Swift Fit 66

Twenty years of elite sport, distilled into one-to-one and small-group coaching that reads the whole person and shapes the work around them.

Dan Cossins at Well Bath.

Dan Cossins White has nearly twenty years of experience as an elite athlete, high-performance sports coach, and personal trainer. He competed as an international-level sprinter and went on to coach sprinters at the highest level, most notably as personal coach over a ten-year period to World Championships 4x100m gold medallist Danny Talbot.

In his search to maximise the performance of his athletes, and in his recovery from a life-changing breakdown in 2016 that diverted him from his career in elite sport, Dan compiled and developed personal-training techniques that build a stronger human being in body and mind. He operates a client-centred approach and draws from strength and conditioning, yoga, breathwork, martial arts, and a range of other holistic practices.

Dan is available at Well Bath for movement, weight training, and outdoor sessions on the rig. He owns White Line Coaching, a high-level personal training and holistic wellness company operating out of the same premises as Well Bath. His semi-private group programme, Swift Fit 66, is one of Bath's most established fitness communities.

Clients regularly describe his sessions as unlike anything else they have tried. Dan encourages people to focus on health and having fun and, in the same session, to challenge the limits of what their bodies can do. Regulars talk about becoming much stronger and healthier, feeling lighter, and rediscovering a body they thought they had lost. There is discipline in the work, and there is warmth. Both live in equal measure in the room.

The story behind the work

Draw a line through the former self

Dan competed as an international-level sprinter and went on to coach at the elite level for a decade. In 2016 a life-changing breakdown — mental health, addiction, recovery — diverted him from his career in elite sport. He came back through the door on the other side with a body of work that draws from what he learned in the mud of that recovery, alongside twenty years of strength and conditioning.

The result is a way of coaching that treats the human as one integrated system. Body, mind, breath, purpose. Strength, sleep, food, rhythm. It is a philosophy drawn straight from the mud of his own recovery, and now brought to every session he holds.

If you want the corporate-website language for what he does, it is on his own site at whitelinecoaching.com. What you are reading here is the version that lives inside Well Bath.

What people say

Voices from the room

“When I first came to see Dan I was not in a good place due to chronic lower back pain and excruciating sciatica. Over a period of months Dan slowly built up my core strength through gentle conditioning work before progressing to light weights, hill running and flexibility work. After twelve months I'm now pain free, running a couple of times a week and able to do more intensive weightlifting and flexibility exercises. Dan's whole-body approach has also helped me rebalance my day-to-day life to ensure I stay grounded despite the pressures of a busy day job.”

James Carlin

Rehabilitation client

“Dan's past experience of competing and working with elite athletes and his holistic approach combine to bring the most out of every session. Not only do I feel like I have gained the strength, stability and control in my golf swing through our sessions, but Dan has guided me through the mental challenges that occur from elite sport as well as the challenges of daily life. This has helped me become a better athlete but also a better person.”

Liam O'Mara

Elite golfer

“I was twenty stone in January. I'm now seventeen stone eight. Committing to the three healthy habits has led to me developing other healthy habits. It feels like every day I've made a small step forward and the result is my body is completely different and my state of mind is completely different. Thanks bro.”

Charlie Cossins

Swift Fit 66 member

“I am skiing with a group of friends and normally I have to take a day or half a day off as I'm too tired. This year due to Dan's Swift Fit 66 training I've skied every day, kept up with the boys, and feel just great. Big thanks.”

Jane Carson

Swift Fit 66 member

“I walk up hills effortlessly and have become aware of parts of my body that I did not even know existed. Love being in my body. Thank you dear Dan.”

Hanneke Van Deemter

Personal training client

“Dan's personal and skilled ability to encourage, develop and work with my son has been everything and more he needed. My son has grown in confidence as an individual, and with this confidence has come a belief in himself that he can be successful.”
