Class at Well Bath
Sol Power Yoga
The brighter end of the schedule
The room warms as the practice moves. Mirella cues breath and flow together — Ashtanga underneath, and something warmer on top. Sol Power Yoga is Mirella's more energetic class at Well Bath. Breath-led, flowing, and warmer in tempo than her Gentle Luna Flow. Mirella draws on her Ashtanga background and mixes it with other postures to keep the class fresh.
Mirella is Ashtanga-qualified. She discovered yoga eight years ago, studied the depths of the practice in India, and has been teaching in Bath since. She calls the India study one of the best experiences of her life, which comes through in the way she holds the room.
The pace is Mirella's own — a considered version of a Power flow, precise rather than punishing, with the internal work always sitting alongside the outer shape. Regulars talk about how the class leaves them clear and calm rather than emptied out. Suitable for all levels: yogis will be tested and novices made welcome and nurtured. Mondays 11:30 to 12:30.

What people bring
Presentations commonly worked with
Sol Power sits at the warmer end of the schedule. What people arrive with is usually a body that wants to be worked, not soothed.
- A yoga practice that has plateaued at a slower pace
- Loss of strength or aerobic capacity after a period of inactivity
- Stress that responds better to being burned off than sat with
- Wanting a class that will leave you clear-headed for the working week
- Return to yoga after finding gentler classes were not enough
- Curiosity about Ashtanga-informed movement without committing to the tradition
- Body stiffness from long hours seated that needs proper heat to shift
This is an intermediate-to-strong class. If it is your first yoga class ever, start with Ilona's Gentle Hatha or Lauren's Wake Up and Flow, then come here once the shapes are familiar.
What a session is like
From arrival to the last breath in the room
The class runs sixty minutes on Monday mornings. This is Mirella's usual shape for the hour.
- 01
Arrival
Front door, tea from the foyer if you want it, into the studio for eleven-thirty. Aim to be on your mat five minutes before the start.
- 02
Opening
A few grounding breaths and a short intention. Mirella names the shape of the day so you know where the class is going.
- 03
Warm-up
Sun salutations building progressively — a few rounds of A, a few rounds of B — worked through cleanly.
- 04
Main sequence
Standing shapes linked through breath — warriors, side-angle, triangle, twisted shapes. Mirella teaches alignment while keeping the flow moving.
- 05
Peak posture
One shape the class works up to. Sometimes an arm balance, sometimes a deeper hip opener, sometimes an inversion. Options given for every entry.
- 06
Floor work and rest
Seated forward folds, twists, a bridge or supported shoulder stand, then savasana. The body is warm, so the rest is deep.
Weighing it up
Sol Power versus Gentle Luna Flow
Mirella holds both classes. They are two ends of the same lineage. This is how they differ.
| Sol Power | Gentle Luna Flow | |
|---|---|---|
| Pace | Warmer, faster, sun-salutation-driven. | Slower, held-shape work. |
| Effort | You leave warm, sometimes sweaty. | You leave settled, muscles softer than they arrived. |
| Level | All levels welcome; suits those with some background. | Truly all levels, including complete beginners. |
| Register | The sun in the name is accurate — enlivening. | The moon in the name is accurate — restorative. |
| Best if you | Want to be worked and cleared for the week. | Want to close a hard stretch gently. |
Doing both across the week is a common rhythm for Mirella's regulars. Monday to work, Thursday to unwind.
