Workshop at Well Bath
Reiki and Meditations Monthly Group Healing
A softer entry into Reiki, held for a group
Everyone lies down. The lights come low. Heidi guides meditation and holds Reiki for the whole room at once. Once a month Heidi holds a group healing evening at Well Bath. It combines guided meditation with Reiki, held for the whole room. Everyone lies down, the lights come low, and the session unfolds without expectation.
Heidi first met Reiki at The College of Psychic Studies in London in 2002. She has been a Reiki Master and Teacher since 2008 and, over more than two decades of practice, has extended her work to include Energy Clearing, Home Healing, Meditation Teaching and Feng Shui Consulting. Both her one-to-ones and these group evenings sit inside that longer arc.
The room is held quietly. Heidi guides a meditation while Reiki is offered for the whole room, and the session moves between guided passages and stretches of stillness. Nothing is done to you in the ordinary sense — you receive what the room is holding. This is a good first door for anyone curious about Reiki but not ready for a one-to-one session, and a good deepener for those who already work with her.

What people bring
Presentations commonly worked with
The group evening is a container for the whole nervous system to be met at a lower cost than a one-to-one session. What people arrive with is usually less a specific complaint and more a wish to be held.
- Curiosity about Reiki without wanting to commit to a full session
- Nervous-system unsteadiness after a long working stretch
- Sleep that has been shallow or slow to arrive
- Anxiety that responds to stillness rather than to talking
- Grief, transition, or a stretch of low mood
- Regular one-to-one Reiki clients wanting to feel the work in a group container
- Wanting a monthly rhythm that costs less than repeated one-to-ones
The group evening is a supportive container, not a medical treatment. If you are working with a diagnosed condition, Reiki is a complement to rather than a replacement for medical care. Mention anything relevant to Heidi on arrival.
What a session is like
From arrival to the last breath in the room
The evening runs ninety minutes on a Friday once a month. This is the shape of it.
- 01
Arrival and settling
Front door, tea from the Welsh dresser, into the studio. Mats, bolsters and blankets set out. Take a place on the floor or a chair, whichever suits.
- 02
Heidi opens
A short welcome, an outline of how the evening runs, permission to shift, to leave to the loo, to sit up if lying is not for you tonight.
- 03
Opening meditation
A gentle guided meditation to bring the room into the same register. Nothing demanding.
- 04
The Reiki-held middle
The main body of the evening. Heidi holds Reiki for the whole room while a guided passage or a stretch of stillness moves through. Some people fall asleep. Some notice heat, colour, memory. Some notice nothing during the session and feel the difference the next day.
- 05
Held silence
A longer stretch of quiet before closing. This is often where the body finally settles.
- 06
Closing
Heidi brings the room back gently, no rush to sit up, tea and quiet conversation in the foyer for anyone who wants to stay.
Weighing it up
Group Healing versus one-to-one Reiki
Both are held by Heidi. Both draw on the same modality. They meet different needs.
| Group Healing evening | One-to-one Reiki | |
|---|---|---|
| Setting | A group container in the studio. | A one-to-one session in the therapy room. |
| Attention | Heidi holds the whole room together. | The full hour is on you. |
| Register | A shared, held evening. | A deeper, more specific piece of work. |
| Cost | Workshop rate — a softer entry point. | Standard one-to-one session rate. |
| Best if you | Are curious, or want a regular monthly rhythm. | Want dedicated time and a full hour on your specific presentation. |
Many of Heidi's regulars use both — the monthly evening for the rhythm, the one-to-ones when something specific calls.
What the evidence says
Research and clinical literature
Reiki and related energy-work practices have a growing evidence base for anxiety, pain, and quality of life, though the field is smaller than the meditation literature.
-
Randomised trials of Reiki report reductions in anxiety and pain across a range of clinical populations, with effect sizes similar to other complementary therapies.
Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice · Thrane & Cohen · 2014
-
Reiki sessions are associated with measurable reductions in heart rate and blood pressure during and after the session compared with baseline in observational studies.
Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine · reviews · 2018
-
Group-format energy work shows short-term improvements in perceived wellbeing and reductions in psychological distress across small trials.
Journal of Holistic Nursing · reviews · 2019
